The Georgia Writers Association (GWA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides resources to writers in Georgia’s literary communities. At monthly writers workshops, published authors share their experiences, techniques, and advice regarding aspects of the writing and publishing process. Additionally, the GWA website offers valuable resources to help writers succeed in the industry, including articles on a variety of topics. GWA also hosts two annual events, the Georgia Author of the Year Awards and the Red Clay Writers Conference.

This year marks the 53rd Anniversary of the Georgia Author of the Year Awards (GAYA), an annual award ceremony that honors the outstanding efforts of Georgia’s published authors. The winners and finalists, authors chosen from each of the fiction and nonfiction categories, are announced at the banquet and ceremony at the Kennesaw State University Continuing Education Center. Last year, over 230 guests attended the banquet and ceremony.

Sponsors receive the opportunity to network with the other professionals, advertise to our growing readership, and participate in our annual events. Furthermore, all contributions to the GWA are tax deductible and enable us to provide quality events, speakers, and benefits to our literary community.
